Ynai Orbit

Privacy Policy

Last updated 29 July 2026

This policy explains what Ynai Orbit collects, why, and what you can do about it. Ynai Orbit is a legal workspace for Kenyan practice, operated from Kenya. In this policy, "we" and "Ynai" mean the operator of Ynai Orbit, and "you" means the person or firm using it.

We handle personal data under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. If a term here conflicts with that Act, the Act prevails.

What we collect

  • Account details. Your email and name. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your Google profile name and photo.
  • Your documents. The files you open or upload to a workspace, and the text the agent reads from them to answer you.
  • What you ask and what it produces. The instructions you send the agent and the drafts and answers it returns.
  • Usage. The model you used, the number of tokens a request consumed, the credits it cost, and the time it ran. This is what your usage view and your bill are built from.
  • Payments. When you buy credits or a plan, our payment processor handles the transaction. We keep the reference, amount, and date. We never see or store your card or M-Pesa PIN.
  • Your own API keys. If you bring your own key for a model provider, that key is stored in your browser and sent to our backend only to make the requests you ask for. We do not save it on our servers.

How we use it

We use your data to run the service you asked for: to read your matter, answer your questions, draft and revise documents, meter your credits, take payment, and keep the product working and secure. We do not sell your data, and we do not use the content of your documents to train models.

AI model providers

To answer a request, we send your instruction and the relevant text from your documents to the model you selected. On our default models this runs on our provider key. When you bring your own key, the request goes to that provider under your account and their terms. Providers process the request to return a result. Choose the model that suits how sensitive the matter is.

Payments

Card and M-Pesa payments are processed by Paystack. Their handling of your payment details is governed by their own terms and privacy policy. We receive confirmation of a successful payment and store the record needed to credit your account.

Where your data lives

Your account, workspace content, threads, and billing records are stored with our infrastructure provider on managed databases, protected by access controls so that you reach only your own records. Some processing happens outside Kenya where a provider operates there.

Your documents and confidentiality

Your files stay in your own workspace, under your account. We treat them as confidential and access them only to run the service or where the law requires it. You are responsible for the material you place in a workspace, including any client information, and for choosing a model appropriate to it.

How long we keep it

We keep your workspace content and account for as long as your account is open. Usage and payment records are kept for the period the law requires for tax and accounting. When you close your account or ask us to delete your content, we remove it within a reasonable time, except for records we must keep by law.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you may ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct it, delete it, or stop a particular use of it. To make a request, contact us at the address below. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure to protect your data. No online service is perfectly secure, so keep your password private and sign out on shared devices.

Children

Ynai Orbit is for legal professionals and is not intended for anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for a significant change, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Ynai Orbit after a change means you accept the updated policy.
